John Knowles

I did my art and design foundation course at Hull College of Art in 1965-66, and went on to do a Diploma in Art & Design in sculpture, glass and ceramics at Stourbridge College of Art from 1966-69. After many years teaching in schools, adult, further and higher education, including three years as a foundation course leader, I retired and became a student again. Following that, after a 40 year break from ceramics, I bought a wheel and an electric kiln and began making pottery again.

I make stoneware domestic pieces, bowls, jugs, mugs, bottles, vases, etc, with a limited range of glazes, including my own wood ash glazes.
